INTERNATIONAL PEACE GARDEN PART 1

Yesterday we headed to the International Peace Garden. Very close to home and something else we haven't yet seen in our almost 3.5 years here. Our main reason for going was the Game Warden Musuem for LM and some geocaching, of course. What a beautiful spot. It was hot but not to bad, there was a nice breeze. For 4 of us to attend was $10.00. Of course I spent more in the gift shop which is nice cause everything costs a fortune these days. Anyways, we headed straight to the Game Warden Museum. My LM is a hunter/wildlife enthusiast. He is very much a Lazark. Him & his Uncle Don will get along very well.
We then headed into the pathway. I needed to see the 9/11 Monument. Wow. I didn't think that some steel girders could have that sort of impact. To see it and touch them for yourself was something else. To see the damage to those huge, thick steel beams is unbelievable. To see those huge bolts sheered right off. Here are some photos. So this is all of it. Along side the edge is all sorts of information about that day.
A shot of some of the missing bolt ends.
It sure was humbling to see. I recommend going there if you haven't been. Take your camera.

  1. Ever wonder why the elaborate International Peace Garden exists in the middle of nowhere? Or why they have a 911 memorial there with actual girders?
