Its funny, when people are drunk, what they'll tell you. What's even funnier is when you immediately know who their source is, lmao. And you wonder why I don't have the time of day for some.

Well lots of things but today, this is a rant. Or lets just call it an old fashion bitchfest with a little "heads up".
I find it funny when people are so interested with your business that they can't keep their own crap together. People that would rather talk about your business cause their's is just to boring and pathetic. That or they are just pathetic.
What I find funny is when that big mouth comes back to bite you in the ass big time! And guess what, its coming. Heads up. The things I hear and oh, the things I'll be doing with those interesting little facts. Would have been better to just zip and and go with the facts, you know fuck all.
People need to learn to stop flapping their gums. 2. My horoscope sign is a Sagittarius.

Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-44081757007825126382012-12-23T17:47:00.001-08:002012-12-23T17:47:55.289-08:00SNOWMOBILINGWell, just as we hoped, we've been busy with the kids and the sled. Between the backyard rink and the snowmobile, we don't spend a whole lot of time in the house which was part of our plan.
We are pretty active but besides hockey, tend to slow down in the Winter time which isn't great. With things on the up around here, we've been even more active and have been doing some fishing and want to get the kids introduced to ice fishing as well.
So after much discussion, DH & I decided that snowmobile racing is a very expensive hobby and running, racing, maintaining and repairing two race sleds is just to much money, especially since hockey & racing run in the same season. So this Summer we sold our ice/grass sled, the first racing machine we purchased. It went to a huge racing outfit in Saskatchewan and I'm sure it'll win a lot of races for that team.
We bought ourselves a machine that we could just get out and ride. And after DH spent two days in the garage rebuilding the motor we were good to go. Oh and $600.00 on helmets! Yikes. Not a cheap hobby.
So after working up my courage again, after years of not riding, last weekend I took the ditch and trails along highway 3 up the big hill. What a great view.

So I thought I would sit and write about our newest find!!!
I am a magnet. Or as my friend Lindsay would say, a sucker!
The night of the town parade was COLD! -27 or so if I remember correctly. So we came early, found a good spot, argued with the kids as to why we should stay in the truck, lost the argument and went and stood out on the street. After a very short parade we jumped back into the truck to take DH home as I wanted to check out the mall and what I thought was going to be a small craft sale. Well, there was no craft sale so we headed back out into the cold and back to the main drag. Wandering along minding our own business, we hear meowing and LM says "Look Mom, little Penny". UGH! Its running down the side of the buildings and shivering. So I reached down, grabbed it and then thought, now what.
We wandered around to a couple businesses that have cats but no luck. So we brought her home and thought we'd put an ad on the local Buy & Sell page. Ya, no luck.
The next morning while I was in the tub, DH told the kids they could keep it!!! Thanks Dear for asking me what I thought. Long story short, our cold frozen kitten found a home. DH named her Kisinaa (Kiss-in-aa) which is Ojibway for "cold".

Damaged on Duty.
Being the wife of a Mountie who suffers from PTSD which he got in the line of duty, I have grown passionate about raising awarness to this horrible mental illness that my husband has.
While my husband is much better than when he was first diagnosed, there are many still out there that are afraid to speak out about their PTSD in fear of what their co-workers will say and what their employer will do.
Visit us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/leesgang#!/groups/417099365010328/
You can also follow us on Twitter at @damagedbyduty
Or you can visit our website at www.damagedonduty.com. We are currently looking for people to share their PTSD stories and journies with us. We will keep the posting annonymous if you wish.
Lets raise awareness for our first responders suffering with PTSD and let remove the stigma. No one should do this alone. No one should live in fear. We have crossed most of our t's and dotted most of our i's and we got Damaged on Duty off to a good start. We are slowing being noticed and we have had numerous people come forward and talk to us about their fears and their stories.
Our website went a little wonky on us but if you have Facebook, check us out. I believe their may be an American Damaged by Duty as well but we are now officially registered in Canada so make sure your checking out the Canadian site.
This is certainly not a topic that is going to go away and burying your head in the sand isn't going to make it better. We've been quiet long enough and its time something is done.
Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-80380427851909170172012-10-28T19:17:00.000-07:002012-10-28T19:17:30.410-07:00CANADIAN PLAYBOYZA month ago the ladies from our development went out on another ladies night!! This time we attended at our neighbors bar to see strippers. In all my 38 years, I have never seen strippers. I was excited and scared. So off we go in the town's limo to see male dancers. The bar was full of local ladies.
Now that I've done it, I don't think I'll ever do it again. Well I shouldn't say that cause if they came back, we'd definetly have a ladies night again, I'm sure.
So it started off with what I thought was the best looking dancer coming out dressed as a cop. Of course that got it all started. Oh Sandy, just like C. Is this what happens at your house, blah, blah, blah.
Anyways, then the joke was dangling money over your friends head so that she got a lap dance. Very interesting thing. The first dancer was very raunching. Thankfully my male stripper virginity was not broken with him. Yikes. But I would be stupid if I thought that it wasn't gonna happen to me eventually. Last dancer of the night. At least he was kinda cute but he was sweating and I sorta found it uncomfortable to have my hands on a almost naked man who is staring at me, is only wearing gitch and isn't my husband. It was fun. I haven't laughed like that in a very long time.
I think the strangest thing that happened that night was having my nipple pinched by another woman, lol.
A great time was had by all.

I just don't have the time. This weekend was the first weekend in a long time that I sat in front of the computer and did some stuff. Unfortunately my lack of computer time showed when I couldn't remember how things worked in Photoshop!!! It has been a very long time since I did any digital scrapbooking or photo editing.
Anyways, myself and two other force wives are working on something that is very dear to our hearts. We are SO excited. Stay tuned. We ended up in Virden to watch hockey. Another town we haven`t been to off the list.
I still haven`t heard about my part-time job. Still waiting for one background check to come back. I seriously can`t believe that as much as I loved my job as a para-legal that I am considering a career change. I always assumed I would go back to it. Now I`m considering a certificate and online course in something else. Its not a bad thing I guess. I can`t sit here and do nothing when these kids go back to school. I`ll go crazy. As much as I bitch and complain about being busy, I have to be busy.
This week so far I`ve done my exercise class twice this week. I`ve been at school for 3 afternoons, I`ve done two hockey practices, I did shake, rattle & roll with Makenna. I had a spray park meeting, I painted our bathroom, I cleaned the carpets in the house, my laundry is all done. I watched the neighbors kids for an hour (I had 6 kids in the house at one time!!!!) I need to keep busy. I`d go crazy if I didn`t. Between all that stuff - and regular hockey season starts next weekend and being on the PAC I`m a happy girl when I`m doing something.
But now, its time for bed. My ladies are texting about our little project AND I have cross fit in the AM. I also have my in-laws coming out. So I have some cleaning up to do. I also want my MIL to help me pick out the new paint colors for my living room, kitchen, bedroom and living room and dining room feature wall.
I guess at the end of the day, exercising, eating better and losing 23lbs has done wonders for me. I feel great.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-38472862343504299732012-09-25T18:47:00.002-07:002012-09-25T18:47:54.611-07:00OVER YOUI had to share this song that made me cry like a baby the other day when I was running!!! Crying and running are not something you want to do at the same time! I really did think that after running approximately 15 mins with another 10 to go that I might actually fall over!!
Some days Nancy is in my head a lot more than others. I am blessed to have so many great memories of her. Although drugs took her away from me in the end, they never truly broke us apart.

My legs are still sore. I had a hell of a time to getting out of bed this morning.
Tomorrow morning I go again. Call me crazy. I guess once you get into a routine of feeling better and doing something great for yourself, it becomes easier every day. Now ask me what I think tomorrow evening and I might tell you something else. My legs are killing me, amongst other things and I've stretched a couple times today but shit the results are so worth it. To hear twice from two different people that your "wasting away" makes it all worth while.
I'm still doing the Herbalife thing. And its not just weight management. Check us out cause I can help you with the whole line of products which is slowly being implemented into this house. Including the Herbalife 24 line which is for body building muscle heads like DH.
I have yet to take measurements after my week or so of Herbalife but I will soon.
Off to bed, 550 a.m. and I don't really like each other.
Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-54772340449316886992012-09-20T09:56:00.000-07:002012-09-20T09:56:07.702-07:00HELLOIts been awhile.
Its been crazy.
We are settled back into school somewhat and surprise, surprise, LM & I both have colds!! FML.
Hockey is about to start. We are registered and parent volunteer positions have been delegated, equipment is bought and ready to go. Well sorta, LM needs player skates and player pants. But the goalie side of hockey is good to go. We have one camp under our belt and another this weekend. Then regular practices start on the 25th.
Splashpark Committee is also going strong although we need money to proceed any further. We have given our features at our location to the designer and are waiting back for prices. Yikes. I suppose I'll be jumping into the fundraising side of it as time permits to help those ladies with volunteers for their events.
I've also been reading like crazy into mine & Liana's new little business venture, Herbalife. I've sold some stuff already to another friend of mine who is also going into the Cross-fit class starting her next week. We figured it would be a good time to start the weight loss items to see how they work. Cross-fit is a class that is being offered in town two mornings a week from 6:15 - 7:00 A.M. I've signed up for both days :0 There is a lot of reading involved with the meal replacements, supplements, skin care line and whatever else!! I haven't even touched on the body building stuff which is what DH is interested in!!!
I finally have answers to a medical mystery I've been dealing with for the last year!!! Thankful for a good doctor that takes care of me. I'll hopefully have it all under control in the next month or so once we get approved treatment. Oh and I get to go for another one of those lovely mammograms!!! UGH.
Other than that, I haven't had much time for anything. Today is a running day but I came home with the idea that I would finish making bannock, the requested NHL and brain jello mold and then thought, well all this crap is already out I might as well make pumpkin muffins and chocolate chip cookies instead. So that run is gonna happen tonight before bed I guess.
Reading? Haven't been. To tired when I crawl in my bed although I am working on the next book in the Dragon Tattoo series. Plus Sylvia Day's newest book, number two in a series is due out in a couple weeks. Better get cracking.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-7923633866668684902012-09-06T16:05:00.002-07:002012-09-06T16:05:30.578-07:00BOTH OF USListen. In the last couple months I have found that I don't have a lot of interest in the social media site I could not get enough of. I guess I just can't be bothered with people's bullshit.
I downloaded the Pinterest app for my iPhone and I do check it regularly. What it is is a site full of ideas. You need a recipe, you'll find it on Pinterest. Planning a wedding, tons of ideas.
Well I hate baking. Always have. I'm not one that pays attention to fine details. A problem when baking some stuff. Now well I say I hate it, I still do it because I did do the Killarney Bake Exchange last Christmas and we are doing it again this Christmas.
Anyways, thanks to Pinterest I've been doing tons of it lately. Here are some of the things we tried.
Firstly Oreo bars. Instead of use rice krispees we used crushed oreos. The recipe called for 5 cups of marshmallows. TO MUCH. I don't know if I would make this one again.
Then I made chocolate zuchinni cake. DH loved it, I thought there was a bit of an after taste. Next time I'll shred the zuchini a lot smaller. Loved that I made a chocolate cake from scratch and not a box.
Putting my stuff away and tripping over a big bag of apples from my friend Nadine I thought, ooh, apple crisp. I haven't made on in ages. That was a hit. When we had trees in Wpg we had a freezer full of pie filling and apples. DH wants me to make another.
Then we made soft pretzels. So good. The kids loved them. I made a small batch cause they aren't so good once they cool off and they were gone quick. I'll definitely be making those again.
To get onto Pinterest you need someone to invite you. Sorta dumb but there aren't a lot of people that aren't on it so I'm sure you could find something.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-41290272190463789342012-08-19T18:31:00.000-07:002012-08-19T18:31:25.455-07:00THINK ABOUT ITA person will only take so much of your crap before they've had enough.

I started off with a beets and did about 6 jars. We'll probably eat them all but I could still end up getting more beets before the end of Summer/Fall.
My Mother-in-Law taught me how to make pickled beets many years ago. We use DH's Grandma Phillips' recipe. Best I've had. Also the recipe that got me a 3rd place at the fair this year out of 9 jars. I've been lucky the last couple years that a local girl shares her extra beets with me but this year I bought a bunch at one of our Saturday Farmer's Market. If I do get more beets, I'll definitely pickle them or shred them for borcsht.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I also decided to do pickled carrots this year as well. My friend Jill gave some to the kids and they loved them. So again, Saturday morning trip to the farmers market and we have pickled carrots. The kids have already eaten two jars.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Then I did pickled beans!!! First time ever. My new neighbor and I both love caesars and she told me you had to have one with a pickled bean. After she sliced her finger open a couple weekends ago and I watched her kids for her while she went to get it sewn up she made me a ceaser. She also brought me a bag of fresh beans. So I pickled us each a jar. Waiting to see what they turn out like.
Then I did 20lbs of cukes which got us 20 1 quart jars of dills. I started first thing in the morning, had them done by 2:30 and then headed next door to the neighbors to help them lay 9 pallets of sod. DH & I have never been so dirty in our lives. The kids played well together from 2:30 till about 7:00 when we finished. We had a fun.

Second cache in, LM & I are searching through the bush (we found out later there was a trail). I don't usually let him bushwack with me but I let him this time. 60 meters from the cache according to the GPS and about halfway in, we found a wasps nest. I got two bites, LM, 8!!! Holy fuck, my poor kid. Anyways, he went running out of the bush, I stood there to hopefully take the attention off him and then headed out. He was REALLY upset. We rushed him home, filled him up with Benadryl, threw him in the tub, then covered the bites with Benadryl cream. Then to be sure I took him over to the emerg. He's never reacted to bug bites before but I was scared as hell. The bites weren't even swollen and I had done everything I needed to do. After a slurpee and an Angry Birds smoochy he was okay. He even asked to go caching this morning which is a good sign. We've decided to take a break for a bit and stay out of the Turtle Mountain bushes. UGH! I feel like shit.
This morning he is doing good and we've passed the 24 hour mark. He was adamant we go to Boissevain to find a cache that was muggled but we decided to wait. And we'll do some caching next week in Brandon as we'll be there all week.
Anyways, we headed over to Flamingo Monday, the kids swam, played and ate. The parents ate & drank. ST is not only a great electrician but he makes AWESOME margaritta's and awesome Pina Colada's. Its great when you like 98% of your neighbors. And the other 2% stay away. Birds of a feather flock together.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-3580309358018878382012-08-03T22:05:00.001-07:002012-08-03T22:05:22.445-07:00BYE BYE LAND LINEAfter some research DH and I decided it was time to cut off the land line. It hardly rings, I do most of my communicating via text. I discovered that the land line was costing us $70.00 plus a month. There was about $15.00 we could have taken off but we'd still have 3 phones. So I did the research and decided to cut if off. On August 12th our land line number will no longer be and you'll have to reach us by either one of our cell phones. What would make life so much easier is if everyone had iPhones!!! Then you could facetime and not even have to dial. Anyways, in the end it was a savings of about $50.00 a month getting rid of it and setting up some sort of long distance plan for our cell phones. DH is due for a new phone next Winter so I'll be scoring the newest iPhone when his Blackberry contract ends. He'll get the downgrade, lol.
While we were on our saving money kick we also altered our satellite programming. $80.00 and change a month!!! To sit in the house and do nothing. No thanks. The problem out here is that we only have satellite as an option as MTS and our local cable doesn't come out to our development. So we ended up losing some channels that we probably don't even watch, kept the ones we really wanted and lost 2 that LM wanted but never watched. Another $14.76 in my pocket! Where else can I make cuts??
Alright, enough useless blubbering from me.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-38244074038335600822012-08-03T21:54:00.000-07:002012-08-03T21:54:17.476-07:00WHOOPING COUGHWith the recent outbreak, of course I panicked and DH and I went in today and got our immunization. Not for me, but for the safety of my kids. I'm a strong believer in herd immunity and so if there is something I can do to prevent my kids from becoming ill, poke me!
We got in same day but of course, having the Public Health Nurse as your neighbor and friend does have its benefits. While it didn't do me any good when I told her that DH liked it rough and she was free to make it hurt when he got his needle.
Anyways, tonight I go to bed with a sore arm! It feels like someone punched me in the shoulder. She told me I was a wimp when I texted her tonight to tell her she hurt me, lol.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03597224437091595697noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-593695785934681351.post-43562428214035693042012-07-31T12:16:00.000-07:002012-07-31T12:17:16.082-07:00INTERNATIONAL PEACE GARDEN PART 2 - THE PEACE TOWERThis is cool. Very close to home and something else we haven't yet seen in our almost 3.5 years here. Our main reason for going was the Game Warden Musuem for LM and some geocaching, of course.
What a beautiful spot. It was hot but not to bad, there was a nice breeze. For 4 of us to attend was $10.00. Of course I spent more in the gift shop which is nice cause everything costs a fortune these days.
Anyways, we headed straight to the Game Warden Museum. My LM is a hunter/wildlife enthusiast. He is very much a Lazark. Him & his Uncle Don will get along very well.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We then headed into the pathway. I needed to see the 9/11 Monument. Wow. I didn't think that some steel girders could have that sort of impact. To see it and touch them for yourself was something else. To see the damage to those huge, thick steel beams is unbelievable. To see those huge bolts sheered right off. Here are some photos.
So this is all of it. Along side the edge is all sorts of information about that day.
