NEWEST UPDATE

Well, the truck didn't get fixed after our incident. But its fixed now. Two more trips back to Brandon and still, issues. DH finally called the GM at the dealership and told him to take it out of the truck and that he wanted his $$ back. GM told him to keep it and he'd send us a cheque for the cost of the command start plus money for our fuel getting back & forth. DH called a friend in town here that used to install them and he gave us the name of a guy in Rathwell, MB who is a command start genius. And that he is. He fixed the problem - they had it hooked up wrong on cold starts - diesels have either a glow plug or heater element that heats up the fuel before the truck actually starts. Well it was shutting off because of the bad connection. $100.00 later the command start is fixed. And I still have a wad of cash in my pocket. Well I did until DH ordered a whole bunch of other parts to improve fuel mileage. Anyways, both my kids are playing soccer this year, again. I'm hoping LP has a better season with our new coach. She knows LP well and I know she'll keep her motiviated. While she is playing and Dad is supervising, I'm with LM on the other side of the field. And this year, I'm the assistant Coach. They asked if I'd be able to help out and figured, I'm there anyways so I can either sit in my lawn chair or I can help out. I decided to help because I don't want to be one of those parents who bitches and complains about how things can be done better but doesn't do anything to help it be better. I'm having a lot of fun. Of course I know most of the kids from hockey & school so its nice to see them in a different environment, playing a different sport. The only thing is, I hate being called Mrs. Phillips or Coach Phillips. Most kids just call me by my first name which is a-okay with me. I'm enjoying learning the game myself and I'm happy that I can help enstill the values of sportsmanship and fairplay into these kids. I have to admit though, there are some pretty checky kids, even at this age. Of course, I don't put up with it. I've also realized in the last couple weeks that I've stopped doing some of the things that I used to really enjoy. 1, digital scrapbooking. I can't remember the last time I did a page. I guess I just have better things to do now. Hopefully once the snow falls again, I'll get caught up and do some pages. And number 2. my photos. I can't remember the last time I pulled my camera out. So sad. Which kinda hints as to why I don't have anything much to scrapbook. I do have the list for the photo contest already so I need to take some photos. I stopped looking for good shots last Summer when we were hell bent on getting out of here. So time to pull it out and get some photos. Not only for the contest but for myself as well. Its kinda scary that I've let some circumstances take over the things that I enjoy. I'm on a mission for fast & easy cooking. When DH went off at first I was doing everything around here. Which I understand now because for the longest time he was a walking zombie. Eventually I told him he had to take over the cooking. He had to do at least one organized thing in a day and not just sit and sleep. Oh how far we have come in the last 3 years. Anyways, in the Summer time we both end up outside with the kids and doing stuff that come supper time we both don't feel like cooking and have no idea what to make, fast. So we've been brainstorming and have decided on a couple things to try. LM is very picky but I think we've got it figured out. Anyways, better get a start to this day. Need to get a couple groceries and work-out and decide what we can do on this wet, windy day.
