Last December, on my birthday to be exact we realized that we ran out of rabbitt pellets! We searched everywhere in town with no luck! Maybe this was gonna be the end of the cord chewing menace I stupidly welcomed into my home! After a couple phone calls we discovered that our local Co-Op Hardware store had them! As it was the weekend our dear friend was out for supper and a visit so I jumped in the truck and took off to town. I went in and discovered they were stored in a back shed so I pulled the truck around and waited for the guy to come out. I jumped out of the truck, hit an ice junk (it was dark) and rolled my ankle right over and went to the ground. Good God I was in agony. When I finally got back up the guy asked me if I could turn the truck around as he couldn't see in the shed in the dark. I got back into the truck but couldn't barely put pressure on the accelerator (I'd say gas but the truck is diesel). Anyways, by the time I got home I was in totally agony, could not put any weight on it and it was swollen like a golf ball. I had an instant cankle.
Well I battled it all winter. It hurt like hell. I couldn't walk fast, I could barely get down the stairs. Just as it was starting to feel better (end of March) little man had their Mom's vs. the kids game. I felt like I was back to square one.
Then in June I had had enough. I started running. I ran when it hurt, I didn't stop. I finished my running program and I was fine. I would brace it for running and I'd be good.
Two weeks ago I decided to re-do my running program but at a much faster pace. It feels like I've put the ankle back to square one again. Well, not that bad but it hurts again.
I'm gonna run through it again and its just gonna have to work itself out. I've heard that people that have bad sprains (which is what the doctor said this was) always have trouble. Great. I still wish to this day I had broken it because at least then there would be something they could do.
Needless to say, I now worry about the kids doing the same thing.
And little man - well he gave me my own dino name Anklesoreus.
