I'm taking a break from social networking. Especially after last week when a very touchy post came up and all of a sudden everyone had expertise on the topic. If there is one thing I've learned, its that if you don't have a clue about what the whole thing is about, you keep your yap shut. Some people just can't do that! I'm thankful for a couple of wonderful friends who made sure I was enlightend of all posts. Its situations like this that reinforce my opinions and actions.
It got me thinking about my recording skills that I learned while working for a very anal lawyer. I didn't record a telephone with a phone call one time and got heat for it. I didn't think the call was important, he thought otherwise. After that I recorded EVERY conversation I had. And I still do it. If a phone call is made or received, its recorded on a piece of paper and slipped into the appropriate binder for future reference. Same with emails. And stupid comments. To say I'm a bit of a record keeper would be an understatement. I've got all my bases covered now, lol. I also have the brain of an elephant. I forget nothing. Sometimes beneficial, sometimes not.
On another note, I recently bought an iPhone. DH's contract was due and he hates texting and all that crap so he took over my Blackberry contract and I got the new iPhone 4S. For the first 2 or 3 days, my kids fought over it, even though they each have their own iPods and we have wi-fi. I've now had a chance to play with it a bit, buy a couple apps I wanted and download my music. I haven't had a chance to really sit and enjoy it like I should be. Typical right. I'm hoping that my husband will get in on the technology. Apparently it took him 10 mins or so to text me from a recent Wheat Kings game to tell me that LM was sitting beside the Cpt of the other team. When I texted him back to tell him to take a picture, the guy was gone. DH's buddy had a hoot telling me the story when they got back to the hotel. DH will get it one day. He was blown away that we could have the command start for our new truck hooked up so that I could start it from my phone. That's a little much.
Speaking of the new ride, we still have the Duramax. It went in for a safety and failed a couple things. It should officially be up for sale by Saturday. We've had a couple calls but of course, they were just tire kickers. We were even stopped in Brandon last week.
LM started 4 on 4 hockey yesterday. I am SO proud of my kid! Rene - this is a story I'll share with you on the phone. I do want to share this video though because the team spirit was something I really pushed for this year. The young man in this video is a phnemenoal little hockey player. He's a year older than LM so he will only ever play with him when he is a minor. LM played out with him this year when other kids were trying the goalie thing and this young boy and LM played well together. I don't think there was a game LM played out that these two were scoring goals when they were on the same line. Anyways, after every game this young boy would skate right to LM after the game and tap him on the head or headbutt him. It made a huge difference to LM after a loss. During games, if they would score on LM he would go over to him and give him a slap across the pads with his stick. I wish all kids were raised like this.
