While I was excited for the kids, I was dreading Christmas Day. I wasn't sure how I'd react to our first Christmas without Nancy. I thought a lot about the Christmas she spent with DH & I and how much fun we had and I was thinking about how much she loved Christmas and how child-like the holiday made her. No matter how bad of a spot she was in, she always went home to Mom & Noel's for Christmas Eve. It was strange not talking to her. Everyday is strange without some sort of communication with her.
LP's eyes popped open at about 7:30 a.m. She laid in bed and watched TV until about 8:20 when LM came in and reminded her that it was Christmas morning.
The kids opened their gifts, played a bit, ate and then out we went. I even got on the ice with them. LM later told DH that he had to come out to scrimage because "Mom is to slow".
We spent most of the afternoon on Skype with Grandma & Grandpa skating, playing with toys and hanging out. What great technology.
I made a feast for dinner. You would think we were having 8 for dinner, not 4. Turkey, meatballs, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes and turnips, stuffing, cranberries and gravy. We had WAY to much food.
I have to say, probably our best Christmas ever.
