BACKYARD RINK

Yep, cause we don't get enough hockey during the week at the rink, we need our own rink right outside our backdoor, literally.

.

The other day DH got it into his head that we should turn the backyard into a rink. Once LM heard this there was no turning back. He figures that now that we have a working snowblower that we might as well. Gets the kids outside. And LP needs to learn to skate this year so this will be much easier.

Today DH had the supplies delivered to the house. He went out, framed it and then the kids and I went out to help secure the poly to the frame. It was a little windy and I surely hope our neighbors didn't see me with my arse up in the air pulling and pushing the poly along the ground while DH stapled it to the frame. Once we got it secured, we did our first flood.

So our only concern now is that LM can raise the puck and get it up over the dog run. 6 feet! There is also a window on that side of the garage. We're hoping not to have any incidents this Winter and will figure something out for next year.

I'll be sure to add some photos once we're up and skating. We have another couple floods before we'll be able to skate. I think we'll have a lot of fun this year.
