MY HOCKEY STAR

Yesterday LM played his first Novice game. He was nervous about the offsides the night before. He did really well. He's doing a great job keeping up to the majors but didn't get a goal. He had a couple good chances but... He realizes now that he needs to move quickly cause these kids are faster, lol. He caused a couple offside whistles but he'll get it. I'm sure he's not the only kid. The other minors have a bit of a start on him considering he played goal their first game and then missed two games because of the bronchitis. What I really like is the fact that he's making more friends as their are older kids on the team and kids that he hasn't had a chance to play with. Yesterday after the game he was invited out for a street hockey game which turned into a mini-stick game in the basement which turned into a couple trips to the snowhill at the water plant for sliding while DH & I did some socializing. Glad to see DH out, talking, visiting and having a few. My life is becoming normal again.

On another note, Friday night our proofs came in for our sled/trailer stickers. Oh my, I was bouncing off my seat. They are fantastic. To fricken' bad its to damn cold to put them on now. I'm SO pissed off because the sled and trailer was supposed to be incorporated into our Christmas picture this year. Oh well.

I am so thrilled about how they turned out.

On another hockey note, I'm in 18th place in our annual hockey pool. Not good. I'm usually up at the top. DH is beating me this year which is a total piss off.

Okay, off my butt and into the kitchen. I signed up for a baking exchange here in town and I need to get on it. Of course I signed myself up for the thing that we make every year that is the hardest to make. But I figured if I did it then they would get done for sure. They are DH's favorite so I need to make 6 dozen for my backing exchange and another couple dozen for DH. Its my MIL's recipe so DH has had them made for him years and years. They are the cocktail cherries rolled into a shortbread dough, baked and then glazed into the juice from the jar and sugar. They are very good but very rich (from the shortbread) and sweet. The frustrating part is getting them rolled nicely into the shortbread. Time consuming to say the least.
