In December, 2009 CTP's Uncle Gord was diagnosed with stomach cancer. They started chemo immediately. In the Summer of 2010 they took him in for surgery to remove the cancer. They opened him up to find that the cancer had spread into his back and there wasn't much they could do for him. They started chemo again which was making him really sick. One month he decided not to take the treatment to give himself a break and in approximately September they met with him to tell him that he needed to get his affairs in order. On October 15th he turned 50 years old. With the help of his siblings, especially Cade's Uncle Don & Aunt Terry, Gord was able to pass away in the comfort of his home with his best friend, his cat Fisher - whom he and Cade rescued on the way home from a hunting trip 15 years ago - with him. We lost him on December 15, 2010.
It was a devastating blow to Cade. Him & Gord has always been close. Hunting, fishing, car racing, video games. He was more like a father to Cade than his own step-father.
Not a day goes by that we don't think about him. He will always be remembered for his honesty, his kindness and for always being him.
