The snow we shovelled off the rink two days before blew back on. What a mess. And hard packed too. The kids enjoyed it though cause they had a bit of a hill to slide on.
It was a little trying when LP decided to push the snow back onto the spots that you had already cleaned off but once we had her occupied doing something else - building a snow fort with LM with the huge chunks of snow we took off, it went quickly. Well, about an hour with the two of us going at it and then all the snow around the rink we moved to keep it cleared off. Needless to say, we will be investing in some snowfence next year.
Its been a lot of work but at the end of the day its worth it. The kids have had a lot of fun. It keeps them busy and out of the house watching TV or playing video games. Next year we'll try painting some lines and sprucing it up and DH is going to mount the lights on the other side of the rink and bury the cord so that we aren't always reminding everyone to watch the cord.
Yesterday the rink was more like an pool though. There are a couple spots where it melted so much that the liner is showing again so needless to say we need it to cool off so we can get a good flood on it with the hose again.
