MY POOR GIRL

Friday evening we ran to town to get milk at around 9:15 p.m. You know how bad the skeeters are in the evening. While I was getting Makenna out of the truck I noticed one fly away from her face. About an hour later she had a bit of swelling on her eyelid. Nothing serious.

By morning time her eye was swollen shut! I called the emergency and they told me to bring her in after 10. It wasn't bothering her at all so we took them to the parade and then to the hospital. Thank God our regular doctor was there. She found the bug bite and said yes, allergic reaction and that she wasn't surprised because of her skin sensitivities. Anti-histamine and hydrocortisone cream. Of course we have all that stuff at home.

Of to the fair we go. God, the staring was sickening already. When we went back for the pig scramble I tried to get her to wear sunglasses. Another hockey Mom told me she wasn't the first she had seen this week with the same reaction. Another lady was telling CTP her daughter was the same way and eventually grew out of it.

Yesterday evening they had gotten her again and her ankle was slightly swollen.

This afternoon we went for some groceries and seen our doctor. She said that she had been thinking about her yesterday evening and was happy she hadn't heard from us again and said it looked much better. We are still to keep an eye on it because small children can get an eye infection from those sorts of things.

Here she is this morning looking much better.
