ITS ABOUT TIME
For the first time since we've been here, I finally attended a social. With a little pressure from Mrs. O I got my butt out last Saturday night with my new neighbor, my old neighbor, some teachers and hospital staff. I had a great time. And what would a good old fashioned Manitoba social be without a couple of fistacuffs!!!! Not me of course.
It was nice to get out and see people without kids, have a couple drinks, laugh and dance with the girls. And sadly a couple jaws dropped when we walked in cause I was there. Pathetic.
Anyways, I won't wait so long next time. The girls for the hockey team are a fricken' hoot and I think I'll play hockey next year just so I can party with them. I'll be the girl that opens the gate for them, lol.
We had a busy weekend in general. I did the whole week of boot camp. 6:15 a.m. Monday to Friday. The last two days were awesome and just about everything on my body ached. Friday we took the kids to the Family Dance. All four of us - wahoo. Then Saturday the kids and I spent the day at the beach with some other families. And that night I headed to the social.
I have to say that so far we are having a great Summer. The kids and I anyways. We have gotten DH out a lot more than we planned which is a good thing. Oh the road we've travelled.
And of course we have way more planned. Bonus, I'm taking my camera with me everywhere we go. I need to refocus on what is important to me besides being a Mom and a wife. I need to keep my sanity.
Today was the start of another monthly workout routine. I'm back to the cardio and decided I would run outside now while its still nice. I loaded the kids bikes up and headed to the big track and ran while they rode their bikes. Everyone is happy.
On the up, LM has finally decided that everything we put on the table is not bad for him and I've really noticed a change in his eating, what he's willing to try and the amounts he's eating. The only problem with him is that he eats constantly. So midnight snacks during this Summer have been the norm. Whatever keeps this kid eating. That and a constant supply of Boost/Ensure. Gotta keep those pads on that boy one way or another, lol.
After a shitty week, I'm a happy girl. I've discovered that eliminating all the negative, bad and whatever from your life will do wonders for you. You surround yourself with positive, supportive and caring people and it makes a world of difference.
