This week I have realized that my ignorance towards reading manuals has caused me to not be able to enjoy some of my "toys" to its fullest. First and foremost, my camera. After printing out the almost 200 page manual, hole punching it and actually picking it up, I realized that in the first 15 or so pages, there were more than a handful of things that I didn't know my camera even did. Different beeps, different colors on the display. What a shame. Shame on me.
Tonight I went on ebay and searched some items that I'd really like to add to make this camera worth my while and in the end will help me decide as to whether or not I'll keep it or upgrade again!! First of all was a lens hood. Have never had one before but for $4.99, why not. These don't include filters but we'll get to that later on when we're reading to play with them and actually use them. Secondly was a eye-fi card. Allows your camera to send your files from your memory card right to your computer. For the $80.00 price tag, I'm not really interested, right now. Thirdly, a new flash. The little pop-up flash just doesn't cut it. The entry level, $200.00. The top of the line, $517.00. I think DH almost choked when I told him. So now I'm reviewing and searching a flash that is supposed to be comparable to the Canon but isn't. Brand new its about $147.00 on ebay. Big difference from the $517.00. I keep reminding myself that these are all things that I would need for the upgrade anyways. So its not like I'm throwing away money, eventually if I were to upgrade, it would be used anyways. Ugh, I would LOVE to be able to walk into a store with enough cash to just get everything I wanted and I guess needed to just take photos to my hearts content. I wonder though, if I did have that sort of cash at my disposal, would I read the instruction manual? I still wouldn't be any further ahead right?
I think its time for bed. You know you've spent to much time on it in one evening when you have prices and model numbers memorized!
