On the 28th we packed up the big diesel and hit the highway to Carberry for LM's first Gold in the Net. Four hours of all goalie practice. Firstly, we need to stop for a skate sharpening at 7 a.m. DH had a good chuckle, crappy, icy highways, stop off at the one farmer in town with a skate sharpening machine at home (thanks Darryl)all before the sun even comes up.
Once at the rink LM was greeted at the truck by a local Gold in the Net goalie who would be helping with the on ice drills. There were 5 in the Novice level. First hour - on ice. Then they had a movie for roughly an hour, then lunch, a lecture about the mental part of the game and another hour on the ice. Thank you E for coming and hanging out with us that afternoon. My voice of reason.
Overall DH and I agreed that it was a great program. LM learned a lot and had a lot of fun. He's really excited for the 5 day Gold in the Net program that he's signed up for in July.
