A while back someone suggested the book, Heaven is for Real.
I started reading it only to find out it was a little boy named Colton. Ya, no thanks. Then about a month ago a friend of mine who recently lost her Grandmother said someone suggested it to her. So, I read it. Did it help me at all, maybe a little. I would like to think that when Nancy arrived in Heaven that she was no longer hurting, she no longer had that need that took her in the first place and that she was met by the people that she loved and lost in her short life. I know what your thinking Rene - not Jarvis. Yep, him too because no matter how twisted their friendship was, she loved that guy and she really missed him.
After I read that one someone suggested 90 Minutes in Heaven.
The book is more about this man's horrific accident and how 90 minutes after he was pronounced dead, he started singing amongst the wreckage of his car. He went through hell recovering from his injuries. He felt it was his mission in life to help other people knowing that eventually he would go back to Heaven where he longed to be.
I guess at the end of both books I hoped it was true and that she is somewhere warm, peaceful and free of pain. That every day is the same day and you never get old. There is no controversy and you have everything you need. And because Nancy so hated being alone, that she is surrounded by people. I guess reading that there might be a Heaven was a relief but what wins over is my greed in the fact that she's not here. I think that if Nancy is watching down on her family and friends she is happy to know how much we really miss her. But I'm pretty sure she would want us to move on. Not forget because that, she wouldn't tolerate but to move on and remember all the good times. I know she misses us as much as we miss her. So I guess to believe all this "craziness" I have to believe there is a Heaven and that is where she is.
Mom, Rene - if you wanna read either one of these, let me know.
